Whistling Frog Rum
University project | Second Year
Brief: To create a brand personality and identity system for a new rum that is hitting the UK market next year. It’s called Whistling Frog Rum. Whistling Frog differentiates itself by being distilled only in Barbados and is the only Rum originating from Barbados that uses botanicals from the island. 
There will be two products to consider. A premium brand (prices at £45.00 and an everyday more ‘affordable’ version for £18.00.
The Idea: Taking inspiration from the Arawak community who were the first inhabitants of Barbados. My fascination with this group of people increased the more research I did. I particularly liked their way of life, simple and peaceful and this was something that I wanted to encorporate within my rum, as well as the magic and mystery of their history, folklore, and stories.

Brand Story: The Arawaks, were the first people to inhabit Barbados. It was a beautiful time, appreciating all of Barbados' wonders. They lived a wholesome life of peace and harmony by sharing their home with the whistles of the wilderness.
They told tales of the Adaba; The whistling Frog, whose song is so captivatingly sweet you can almost taste it. They believe that his song is so beautiful that it brings the sweetest rain to nourish the guava fruit on which they relied. They say consuming this fruit would give you the blessings of the Adaba, bringing you good luck and prosperity.
In tribute to this, the Arawak distilled a drink, infused with the sweet notes of the guava and the sugar cane that still lives on today. we make our rum to this ancient recipe, paying tribute and keeping the spirit of the Adaba alive.
